This Used DW Collector's Santa Monica 3-Piece Drum Kit pairs vintage-inspired shell construction with a powerful configuration consisting of a 12x8 rack tom, 16x15 floor tom, and shallow 24x14 bass drum. The larger diameters deliver plenty of depth and authority, while the traditional 14-inch bass drum depth keeps the response quick, focused, and highly playable.

DW's Santa Monica shells pay tribute to the company's earliest maple shell design from the 1980s. Handcrafted in DW's California Custom Shop from 100% North American maple, each shell uses six thicker 1/32-inch plies along with six-ply maple reinforcement hoops. Horizontal inner and outer plies further distinguish the construction from DW's more modern shell formulas, producing a full, resonant voice with added focus, projection, and a distinctly classic character. The toms feature precision-cut 45-degree bearing edges for tonality and sustain, while the bass drum uses a 60-degree edge designed to emphasize depth and punch. 

The Black Mirra finish on a Collector's Series kit is truly a sight to behold. It looks noticeably different from Black Mirra finishes found on other DW lines, revealing a broader range of colors, greater visual depth, and richer sparkles as the light moves across the shells. Photos only capture part of the effect—the finish is especially impressive in person.

This kit is in excellent condition and comes from its original owner, who took exceptional care of the drums. The shells, finish, and hardware remain remarkably clean, making this a standout choice for a player or collector looking for a beautifully preserved DW Santa Monica kit.
