Product Description
This Renown '57 shell pack includes an 18" x 14" bass drum, 12" x 8" rack tom, and 14" x 14" floor tom. The compact layout is easy to position on a smaller stage while still providing the contrast of a full-sized rack tom and floor tom. The undrilled bass drum keeps its top free of a tom mount, allowing the rack tom to be positioned separately.
Each drum uses a 7-ply Gretsch Formula maple shell with 30-degree bearing edges and Gretsch's Silver Sealer interior. The combination produces a warm, rounded fundamental with enough definition for individual notes to remain clear. Gretsch 302 steel hoops on the toms add focus while allowing the shells to retain an open response.
The rack tom uses Gretsch's low-profile GTS suspension system, which supports the drum without attaching a mount directly to the shell. Low-profile brackets on the tom and floor tom keep the hardware compact. Silver Oyster Pearl Nitron, silver accents, and the series' chevron badges give the kit its unmistakable Renown '57 appearance.
The 18" bass drum makes this configuration especially practical where floor space matters. Its 14" depth provides a compact footprint, while the 12" and 14" tom pairing offers a useful pitch spread for fills and accompaniment. You can tune the drums for a more open response or use head choice and muffling to bring the notes under tighter control.
