Product Description

AHEAD Armor Cases address three practical concerns when packing drums: fitting the hardware, protecting the finish, and getting the instrument into the bag without a struggle. This power tom case brings those elements together in a soft case sized for a deeper 13" rack tom.

The patented TruForm teardrop shape follows the outline of the drum and its mounting hardware. Rather than treating the instrument as a simple cylinder, the design provides space where a mounted tom needs it. This helps accommodate protruding hardware while keeping the case shaped around the drum.

The DynaZip zipper system combines a cutaway opening with a zipper that travels around the case and down both sides of the cutout. That wider opening makes it easier to position the drum inside, particularly when working around a tom bracket or suspension mount. It also improves access when removing the instrument at setup time.

Inside, DX-Core padding and a Sherpa fleece lining work together to cushion the drum and provide a soft contact surface. The padding helps absorb everyday bumps during handling, while the fleece separates the drum's finish and hardware from the outer fabric. This combination is useful for protecting a tom through repeated trips between a rehearsal room, vehicle, and stage.

The exterior uses 600-denier polyester with weather-resistant construction. This durable outer fabric provides a protective barrier for routine carrying and storage, complementing the cushioning inside without the bulk of a rigid shell case.

Fit & Compatibility

Choose this case by both drum diameter and shell depth. A 13" rack tom can come in several depths, so the head diameter alone does not establish the correct fit. This model is intended for a 13" x 11" power tom; measure the shell depth rather than including the additional height of the hoops.

Mounting systems also vary in size and position. The TruForm profile accounts for mounting hardware, but checking your particular bracket or suspension assembly remains worthwhile when selecting a case. Bring your drum measurements and mounting details to our staff for help choosing an appropriate fit.
